Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident at Shekamale within the Puttur Rural police limits on Sunday. The victims, identified as Lokesh and Ravindra, were traveling in a car at the time of the incident. According to preliminary information, the accident occurred when the car’s driver swerved sharply to avoid colliding with a two-wheeler. This sudden maneuver caused the car to veer to the extreme right, resulting in a head-on collision with an SUV traveling in the opposite direction.
The car was en route from Mangaluru to Madikeri, while the SUV was traveling from Eshwarmangala to Puttur. The impact of the collision was severe, causing critical injuries to those in the car. Emergency responders rushed the injured individuals to the hospital, but unfortunately, the doctors declared Lokesh and Ravindra dead upon arrival.
