Mangaluru: With multiple upcoming celebrations, the Mangaluru City Police have introduced comprehensive directives to maintain law, order, and community safety. Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH confirmed that events like Moharram (July 6), Krishna Janmashtami, Mosaru Kudike (Aug 16), Ganesh Chaturthi (Aug 27), Eid Milad (Sept 16), Navaratri (Sept 22–Oct 2), Deepavali (Oct 20–22), and Christmas are expected to draw large crowds.
All events within city limits must secure written approval from authorities. Private gatherings need a No Objection Certificate from property owners. Processions are disallowed past 11:30 PM. Loudspeakers are only allowed until 10 PM with clearance. Use of DJs or high-volume sound systems is banned. Noise must remain below 65 dB in commercial areas, 55 dB in residential zones, and 50 dB in silence areas.
Organisers are responsible for round-the-clock protection of idols and assets, installing CCTV with footage stored for 30 days. Safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, ambulances, and first aid must be ready. Hazardous substances, banned colors, single-use plastics, and flammable items are not allowed.
Crowds must remain within sanctioned limits, with sufficient volunteers to manage movement. Emergency exits must stay accessible. Legal banners need permission and must be taken down after the event. Content spreading hate or unrest, including via social media, is strictly forbidden.
Drone usage, weapons, and animals require special clearance. Organisers must submit full details, designate contact persons, and ensure compliance. Non-adherence will lead to legal consequences under various national and state laws.
