Mangaluru: The Bantwal Rural Police have registered a case against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for allegedly making inflammatory remarks that could incite communal discord. The speech was delivered on May 12 during a condolence meet held in memory of Shuhas Shetty, a murdered Hindutva supporter with a criminal record.
The event took place at Madwa Palace Convention Hall in Kavalapadur village, drawing around 500 attendees. According to the police, Bhat’s statements during the gathering were allegedly provocative and capable of disrupting communal harmony and encouraging hostility between different groups.
An FIR has been filed under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police authorities confirmed that legal proceedings are underway and further action will follow based on the investigation’s findings.
This move is part of a broader crackdown by law enforcement in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on speeches and social media content that threaten peace and public order.
