JALSOOR: A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday night when Koodumajalu Mudiyaru Sadashiva Gowda (58), a forest viewer on duty at the Jalsoor forest check post, collapsed and later passed away.
Sadashiva, a resident of Delampady village, had been dedicatedly serving as a forest viewer at Jalsoor for seven years and was nearing retirement next year. While on night duty, he collapsed suddenly towards the end of his shift in the morning.
Efforts were made to save him as he was rushed to the government hospital in Sullia, then transferred to a private hospital, and eventually referred to another facility in Mangaluru. Tragically, he passed away during transit.
Sadashiva is survived by his wife and son. His untimely demise has left colleagues and the community mourning the loss of a committed forest officer.
