Mangaluru – Customers who invested in year-long “Lucky Schemes,” lured with promises of winning pets, cars, gold, and other prizes, allege they have been cheated as operators vanished without fulfilling commitments.

The latest case involves Wafa Enterprises, whose scheme assured grand rewards within twelve months. However, customers report that the office in Krishnapur abruptly shut down, and the owner, Wahab Kulai, is believed to have left for Dubai.

Victims recall similar incidents involving other fraudulent ventures like Shine and Nee India, where investors received no returns. Authorities are being criticised for failing to regulate such schemes or take timely action, allowing fraudsters to operate unchecked.

A viral video showed the closed office, while messages circulated in customer groups claim the situation is temporary. Wahab reportedly stated via video call that he is in Dubai for work and will repay the invested money soon.

Police and regulatory departments are under pressure to crack down on such scams, as public anger grows. Many fear more fraudulent networks could emerge if strict measures are not taken immediately.
