Mangaluru: Mangaluru city police have registered a case against the directors of a Bengaluru-based private company, Shree PLA Pvt. Ltd., and two unidentified individuals following a private complaint accepted by the Hon’ble Court. The allegations include fraud, false claims, and criminal intimidation.
The complainant, Vithesh V Kotian, son of Vinod B Kotian and resident of Star Flex Laminators Pvt Ltd, Baikampady, Mangaluru, is a manufacturer of food packaging materials. According to the complaint, Siddappa Jayakaran and Jayashekar Joy, directors of Shree PLA Pvt. Ltd., Machohalli Gate, Bengaluru, supplied raw materials to his business.
Disputes reportedly arose during the COVID-19 period, with the accused allegedly filing a civil suit falsely claiming Rs 1.65 crore, exceeding the actual disputed amount of Rs 1.15 crore. They also secured a court order to attach the complainant’s property. However, the property in question had already been sold to a third party, causing complications and inconvenience to the buyer.
Additionally, the complainant alleged that six months ago, the accused threatened him over the phone, demanding Rs 2 crore to resolve the matter.
A case has been registered at Panambur police station, and the investigation is ongoing.
