A massive tree located in front of the popular Pabbas ice cream parlour at Lalbagh was uprooted on Tuesday morning due to intense rainfall accompanied by strong winds. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The tree collapse briefly disrupted traffic in the area and drew attention from locals. At present, rescue teams are on-site, working to remove the fallen branches and clear the road to restore normalcy.

The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has also stepped in promptly, taking precautionary measures by trimming tree branches that pose a risk of falling over electric lines in the vicinity.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a fresh warning predicting continued heavy rainfall across Dakshina Kannada over the next few days. Residents are advised to stay alert and avoid venturing out during extreme weather conditions.
