Mangaluru – The third edition of HackToFuture, a 36-hour national-level hackathon, successfully concluded on April 9 at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, with over 2,000 innovators from 21 states showcasing tech-driven solutions to industry-relevant challenges.
Jointly organised by EGDK India Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of Denmark-based EG A/S, and SJEC, the event ran from April 7 to 9 and focused on four critical themes: Healthcare and Citizen Welfare, Industry and Trade, Construction and Workforce Management, and a Mystery Theme. The hackathon saw 44 shortlisted teams compete intensely for ₹2.4 lakh in total prize money.
Industry collaboration fuels innovation
Problem statements were provided by EGDK India, ensuring that the solutions aligned with real-time industry demands. Participants received expert mentorship from professionals from both EGDK India and EG A/S Denmark, and a panel of industry experts conducted the final evaluations.

The hackathon concluded with a valedictory address by Mr. Eske Bo Rosenberg, Consul General of Denmark and Head of Trade & Innovation, who praised the collaborative energy of the young minds.

Celebrating teamwork and tech at SJEC
The event was hosted by the Training and Placement Cell, in collaboration with the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Dr. Sridevi Saralay (HoD, CSE) welcomed attendees, and Dr. Dayakshini (HoD, ECE) delivered the vote of thanks. Compering duties were handled by Ms. Varshitha Kulkarni from the CSBS Department.
