Several areas in Dakshina Kannada, including Puttur, Sullia, Bantwal, and Beltangady taluks, witnessed intense rainfall paired with thunderstorms on the evening of March 25. Kalmadka experienced hailstorms, while Puttur received continuous showers lasting over 30 minutes. The rest of the district enjoyed a cooler night due to the rain’s impact.

Mangaluru recorded a high temperature of 33.1°C and a low of 24.6°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the coastal belt on Wednesday, forecasting sporadic thunderstorms and rainfall. Beltangady’s Naravi saw substantial precipitation, whereas Mundaje and Charmadi reported light drizzles. Puttur taluk received moderate to heavy rain, with areas such as Vittal, Neralakatte, and Anantady in Bantwal taluk also witnessing showers.

In Sullia taluk, regions like Sullia town, Aranthodu, Sampaje, Bellare, Ivarnadu, Nintikallu, Kalmadka, and Jalsuru were battered by afternoon and evening downpours, accompanied by thunder.

Gusty winds and rain uprooted a coconut tree near Aranthodu School, obstructing traffic movement. Rubber and areca plantations sustained damage. Todikana village reported hailstorms, while fallen trees on power lines in Doddadka led to electric poles snapping, causing extended power disruptions. Several parts of Todikana were left in darkness for hours.
