In a sensational development, Lolaksha, president of the Mahagathbandhan of Scheduled Castes and Tribes Organizations, has raised concerns that the alleged honeytrap involving Cooperative Minister K.N. Rajanna may be linked to a private aided college in Bantwal. Speaking at a press meet in Mangaluru on Thursday, he released an open letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, urging a public clarification during the CM’s visit to the city.

Lolaksha alleged that the college management, under the Vidyavardhaka Sangha, faces serious legal violations, with district and Cooperative Department officials recommending the dismissal of its management board and appointment of an administrator. The file seeking administrative change is reportedly pending before Minister Rajanna, prompting suspicions given the timing of the honeytrap controversy.

He further alleged misconduct by the college principal, including denial of retirement benefits, non-compliance with education department orders, and withholding service records. The Joint Director of Collegiate Education has reportedly recommended the principal’s suspension.

Demanding immediate intervention, the Mahagathbandhan has called for:

  • Appointment of an administrator for the Sangha.
  • Recovery of losses caused by alleged financial mismanagement.
  • A criminal investigation into the misuse of crores in public funds.

Lolaksha also questioned the lack of FIRs regarding the encroachment of 977 acres of DC Manna land reserved for Scheduled Communities in Dakshina Kannada.

He further opposed any attempt to extend Scheduled Caste benefits to Christian converts, demanding a religion column be added to the ongoing internal reservation survey.
