In a significant crackdown, the CCB police have booked three individuals for unlawfully operating a hookah bar named ‘Black Moon Resto Café’ in the parking lot of MAK Mall, Kankanady, Mangaluru.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Siddique (also known as MFC Siddique), Abdul Nasir, and Safwan. Authorities confirmed that the trio had obtained permission from the Mangaluru City Corporation in 2023–24 to run a cafeteria. However, they were found to be illegally running a hookah lounge instead.

During the raid, police seized several hookahs, tobacco products, and other associated equipment. Officials suspect that the accused were not only running the bar without valid licenses but were also allegedly distributing narcotics to patrons under the guise of a café business.

The investigation was carried out under the supervision of CCB Assistant Commissioner of Police Manoj Kumar Nayak. The raid team was led by Inspector Rafeeq KM and included Sub-inspector Sudeep MV, Sharanappa Bhandary, ASI Sujan Shetty, and personnel from the Mangaluru (East) Police Station, including SI Manohar Prasad.

Legal proceedings have been initiated, and further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the alleged drug operations linked to the establishment.
