IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Coastal Karnataka, Thunderstorms and Rain Expected

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for March 17, predicting thunderstorms and rain over the coastal region for the next two days.

On Sunday, Dakshina Kannada experienced a warm and humid day, with clouds briefly covering the sky in the morning before giving way to strong sunshine in the afternoon.

In Mangaluru, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.2°C, which is slightly below the usual average by 0.8°C. However, the minimum temperature rose to 25.9°C, which is 2.3°C higher than normal.

Residents have been advised to remain cautious as thunderstorms and rainfall are expected over the coming days.
