Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyasa Kamath has strongly criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government for allegedly resorting to blatant vote bank politics by targeting Sangh Parivar leaders and activists to gain political mileage, thereby worsening the communal harmony in Dakshina Kannada.

He expressed deep concern over the FIR filed against RSS leader Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, the deportation notice issued to BJP district vice-president Arun Kumar Puttila, and midnight police raids on the residences of various Hindu organization activists. Over 15 individuals have been booked, creating what Kamath described as a climate of fear for the Hindu community.

Kamath accused the government of treating Hindus like second-class citizens, and demanded to know how many radical jihadist elements have been arrested—despite their public threats and assaults on Hindus. He argued that law enforcement is being selectively used to suppress one section of society while turning a blind eye to the other.

He urged the state to adopt a balanced approach that respects all communities and restores peace, instead of fanning communal flames through one-sided actions. Kamath warned that if such discriminatory practices continue, the government and police would be fully accountable for any breakdown in law and order.

He concluded by demanding that the government immediately reverse its anti-Hindu stance and work towards inclusive governance.
