Mangaluru: Karnataka Bank has enabled the facility for making Government of Karnataka Khajane-2 e-receipt payments through its Internet Banking platform, further strengthening its position as a one-stop financial services provider. The initiative is aimed at offering customers a convenient, secure, and paperless mode of paying state government taxes and fees online.
With this development, Karnataka Bank customers can now remit various State Government revenue receipts directly through Internet Banking under the Khajane-2 Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) of the Government of Karnataka. The facility follows the successful technical integration of the Bank’s systems with the RBI e-Kuber platform, enabling real-time and seamless transactions.
Authorisation and regulatory approvals
Karnataka Bank has received the necessary authorisation from the Reserve Bank of India and approval from the Department of Treasuries, Government of Karnataka, to collect state government receipts through Khajane-2. This approval allows the Bank to facilitate online payment of a wide range of government taxes, fees, and statutory payments for citizens across Karnataka.
Bank officials stated that the integration ensures high levels of security, transparency, and reliability, in line with regulatory standards and government guidelines.
Seamless digital payment experience
Following the completion of the technical integration with Khajane-2 and RBI’s e-Kuber system, all Karnataka Bank Internet Banking users can now access the Khajane-2 payment option from their accounts. Customers can make payments to various state government departments without visiting physical offices or treasury counters.
The move significantly reduces paperwork and manual intervention, making government payments faster and more efficient while improving overall user experience.
Strengthening Karnataka’s digital ecosystem
Commenting on the launch, Raghavendra S Bhat, Managing Director and CEO of Karnataka Bank, said the introduction of Khajane-2 e-receipts marks an important milestone in the Bank’s digital transformation journey.
“The launch of Khajane-2 e-Receipt on January 14, 2026, is designed to provide a secure, real-time, and paperless receipt system. It enhances transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government transactions. By reducing manual processes and simplifying receipt management, this initiative offers greater convenience to citizens while strengthening the State’s digital payment ecosystem,” he said.
He added that Karnataka Bank remains committed to supporting the Government of Karnataka in advancing transparent, technology-driven, and citizen-centric public service delivery.
Supporting citizens and governance
The Khajane-2 enablement is expected to benefit a wide cross-section of users, including individuals, businesses, and professionals who regularly make statutory payments to state departments. By integrating government payments into its Internet Banking services, Karnataka Bank aims to make compliance easier while contributing to the broader goal of Digital India and e-governance.
Officials noted that the initiative aligns with the Bank’s long-standing philosophy of “Your Family Bank, Across India,” by combining trust, accessibility, and technology-driven innovation.
