The Karnataka government’s decision to conduct three exams for SSLC and II PUC has led to a significant increase in student enrollments at pre-university (PU) colleges. With the results of two exams already declared, a total of 7,21,643 students have secured admission across the Science, Commerce, and Arts streams, marking a notable rise compared to the previous four years.
Despite this overall increase, data indicates a decline in the number of students choosing the Arts stream, while enrollments in the Science and Commerce streams have surged. A source from the Department of Pre-University Education attributed this rise to the government’s initiative to improve student pass rates through multiple exam opportunities. The results of the three PUC improvement exams have already been released, allowing students to now pursue various degree courses.
The new exam policy has successfully increased PU college admissions, highlighting a shift in student preferences and providing more opportunities for academic advancement.
