Addressing a gathering of protesters, district convener Sridhan Nada highlighted the ongoing struggle of the Koraga community in securing land entitlements. Despite previous promises and efforts, only eight out of ten identified acres have benefited Koraga families.

Unfulfilled Promises

Nada lamented the slow progress, citing delays in surveying the allocated land in Aloor and Harkoor villages. Promised land ownership for three Koraga families in Aloor remains unfulfilled despite assurances made two years ago.

Protest and Demands

Protesters expressed frustration with the lack of action from authorities despite repeated appeals at district and taluk level meetings. They demand swift resolution and government land allocation for the Koraga community, warning of intensified protests if grievances are not addressed by June 10.

Discussion with Officials

Tahsildar Shobha Laxmi engaged in discussions with protesters, promising a joint meeting post-June 10 to address concerns once the election code of conduct concludes. However, protesters reiterated their resolve for a large-scale protest if issues persist.
