A KSRTC NURM city bus met with an accident on Saturday evening in Land Links Township near Derebail, after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The mishap took place around 4:30 PM when the bus, operating on the Land Links–Bajal Padpu route, had just completed its final drop and was turning around for the return trip.

While attempting the turn, the driver reportedly lost control, causing the bus to plough through the compound wall of a nearby residential property and collide with the stairway that leads to the terrace.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, as the house was unoccupied at the time—the owners live elsewhere. Additionally, only a few individuals, including the driver and conductor, were present inside the vehicle during the incident.

The front section of the bus sustained visible damage, along with the compound wall and external staircase of the residence. Officials stated that the issue has been resolved amicably, and as no injuries or major disputes occurred, no police complaint has been filed.

Authorities have urged public transport operators to remain cautious while navigating narrow or residential areas, especially during vehicle reversals or turnarounds.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of driver attentiveness and vehicle control, particularly in urban and residential settings where unexpected obstacles can lead to property damage or pose safety risks.
