Continuous heavy rainfall over the past two days triggered a landslide in the Ullal City Municipality area at Hale Kote, where soil collapsed onto a house’s compound wall.
Two houses are now at risk of further damage, with concerns of another landslide. As a precaution, three families have been evacuated and relocated to relatives’ homes.
Ullal Municipality officials, after visiting the site, deployed a JCB to remove the debris, with a video of the operation going viral. No casualties have been reported, according to the municipal commissioner.
