A lightning strike caused extensive damage to a home in Sajipamooda village’s Manjalpade area, Kekunarabettu, on Tuesday night around 8 pm. The incident, which took place at the residence of Puttubava, resulted in the destruction of numerous electrical items and fittings, including an inverter, fans, tube lights, switchboards, the main switch, and wiring. The estimated losses amount to several lakhs of rupees. Fortunately, Puttubava, his wife, and their four children were unharmed in the incident.

The region saw varying weather on Tuesday, with parts of Dakshina Kannada, such as Sullia and Kadaba, receiving evening showers, while other areas experienced a mix of sun and clouds. The Indian Meteorological Department predicts sporadic rainfall in the coming days.

On Tuesday, Mangaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 31.5°C (1°C below average) and a minimum of 23.4°C, slightly above the norm by 0.1°C.
