Dakshina Kannada: The Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple will witness disruptions to its regular darshan and service timings on September 7 due to the upcoming lunar eclipse. Temple authorities have announced a revised schedule for various rituals and services to accommodate the religious guidelines associated with the celestial event.
The afternoon Mahapuja will be conducted earlier than usual, at 11:00 a.m., while the night Mahapuja will take place at 5:00 p.m. Following the evening rituals, darshan of Sri Devara will be suspended from 5:00 p.m. onwards.
Key services affected
Temple management confirmed that there will be no Bhojan Prasad and evening Ashlesha Bali service on September 7. Furthermore, the Sarpa Sanskara service will conclude on Sunday and will not be conducted that day. Devotees are advised to plan their visits accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
On September 8, the temple will not conduct the Panchamrutha Mahabhishek service due to the rituals associated with the eclipse period.
Navanna Bhojan affects August schedule
The temple has also issued a separate notice regarding August 31, when Hostharogane (Navanna Bhojan) will be performed. As part of this ritual, the Mahabhishekam will start at 5:15 a.m., followed by the ceremonial bringing of grain and worship of ears at 7:30 a.m. Darshan will commence only after 10:00 a.m.
To accommodate devotees, the Ashlesha Bali service will be held in two shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
