Mohammad Hanif, a resident of Mumbai and the son of B Abdullah, was arrested in Kasaragod on January 28 in connection with a long-standing counterfeit currency case. Hanif had been evading arrest for 25 years.
The accused had been out on bail but absconded, failing to appear before the court. As a result, the court issued a Non-Bailable Warrant (LPC) for his arrest.
On January 28, PSI Nootan D from Kundapur Rural Police Station, along with head constables Raju and Ashok Shetty, tracked down Hanif in Kasaragod, Kerala, and successfully took him into custody.
He was promptly brought before the court to face further legal action.
