On Tuesday night, a young bike rider died after his two-wheeler collided with a truck near Maripalla on the NH near Bantwal.

Sonu, 19, a native of Uttar Pradesh, passed away. Prasad Poojary, the Karkala pillion rider, was taken to a private hospital in Mangaluru after suffering severe injuries.
At the time of the incident, Sonu and Prasad were both employees at a hotel in Nelyady and were traveling back to Mangaluru after work. The cyclist struck the roadblock at the Maripalla intersection after failing to see it while attempting to pass a container truck. Later, both riders went under the container lorry’s tires.
