Mangaluru– Mangalore University has decided to give top priority to the evaluation and early declaration of sixth semester undergraduate results this academic year. The move comes in response to mounting concerns from students who fear delayed results could affect their chances at postgraduate admissions or employment.

Last year, the university managed to declare sixth semester results just three days after starting the evaluation process. This year, officials are aiming for a similar timeline.

H. Devendrappa, Registrar (Evaluation), shared with media that the university is making concerted efforts to expedite the process. “We are targeting a quick turnaround, similar to last year. However, external factors like unexpected holidays due to heavy rainfall or shortage of evaluators may affect the schedule,” he said.

The university began conducting end-semester exams for second, fourth, and sixth semesters on June 9. Over 26,000 students are currently appearing for the sixth semester exams.

Meanwhile, deemed and autonomous colleges affiliated with the university have already completed their UG exams and begun postgraduate admissions, increasing pressure on the university to act swiftly.

“We will begin evaluating sixth semester answer scripts first to ensure those results are declared without delay,” Devendrappa added. “Early announcement of results will give students a fair chance to pursue higher studies without missing deadlines.”

The university has also initiated the printing of marks cards under the UG-NEP (National Education Policy) syllabus as part of its broader academic process improvements.
