Mangaluru: In a heartwarming display of compassion, the family of Satish K.P. (name changed), a 55-year-old patient, honored his wish for organ donation after his tragic passing at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital.

Satish was admitted on January 19 following a fall that caused severe brain bleeding. Despite all medical efforts, he was declared brain dead after thorough evaluation. Understanding Satish’s expressed desire to donate his organs, his family made the courageous decision to fulfill his noble wish.

With the dedicated efforts of Yenepoya Hospital’s medical team and management, the organ retrieval was carried out smoothly on January 22. Two kidneys and two corneas were successfully retrieved. One kidney and both corneas will be used at Yenepoya Hospital, while the second kidney was allocated to KMC Hospital, Jyothi.

Yenepoya Hospital commended the extraordinary generosity of Satish’s family, emphasizing how their selfless decision will provide new hope and life to multiple individuals. Their act serves as a beacon of inspiration, highlighting the profound impact of organ donation.
