The three-day ‘Mangaluru Beach Festival began today at Tannirbhavi Beach, showcasing the region’s rich culture, scenic beauty, and coastal traditions. Organized by Tapasya Foundation, in collaboration with the Dakshina Kannada district administration and various organizations, the festival witnessed a grand inaugural ceremony attended by distinguished guests.

Addressing the gathering, Odiyoor Gurudev Nanda Swamiji spoke about the deeper purpose of life, emphasizing compassion and service. He highlighted that caring for terminally ill patients is a sacred act, equating it to the Brahmakalasha ritual in temples. Urging people to look beyond caste and religion, he compared the vastness of the ocean to the limitless potential of a dedicated individual. Swamiji also advocated for organic farming, stressing its benefits for both the soil and human health.

MLC Ivan D’Souza, in his speech, called for Mangaluru to be a beacon of unity, while expressing concerns over unfinished coastal development projects. He urged authorities to ensure their completion and commended Tapasya Foundation for organizing the festival. Encouraging active public participation, he emphasized that such initiatives enhance the city’s reputation.

The event saw the presence of several notable personalities, including Pro P L Dharma, Gunarajan Shetty, Gurunath Gowda, Dr Chandre Gowda, Uday Chandra, Dr Karuna Sagar, Irani Karuna Sagar, Harsha Gowda, and P S Shetty.
