Mangaluru police apprehended two individuals involved in peddling illegal narcotics, including Hydro Weed Ganja, Charas, and regular ganja, within the city, particularly targeting students and the general public. Contraband valued at approximately ₹9 lakh was seized during the operation.

Acting on credible intelligence that drugs were being sourced from Bengaluru and distributed in Mangaluru, the CCB police executed a raid on Shivabagh 5th Cross Road. The suspects were caught red-handed while attempting to sell banned substances.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 23-year-old Taizeer Ismail Hussain from Subhash Nagar, Pandeshwar, and 22-year-old Royston Xavier Lobo, originally from Bantwal’s Bolangadi House and currently residing in Shivabagh, Mangaluru. Authorities confiscated ₹8 lakh worth of drugs, along with two mobile phones from their possession.

According to law enforcement officials, the accused engaged in narcotic trade with the intent of leading an extravagant lifestyle. A case has been officially registered at Mangaluru East Police Station.

The successful crackdown was executed under the leadership of Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, with strategic oversight from DCP (Law & Order) Siddharth Goyal and DCP (Crime & Traffic) K Ravishankar. The operation was spearheaded by CCB ACP Manoj Kumar Naik, alongside a dedicated team of officers, including Inspectors Rafiq KM, PSI Narendra, and ASIs Ram Poojary, Sheenappa, and Sujan Shetty.
