In a major breakthrough, the Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) has apprehended a 27-year-old fugitive, Mohammad Abdul Fayaan, who was absconding despite 24 active criminal cases registered across Dakshina Kannada and Mangaluru.

🔹 Background & Arrest
Fayaan, a resident of Manjanady, Mangaluru, had been released on bail but failed to appear in court. His charges include:

  • Theft in government offices, schools, and shops
  • Attempt to murder
  • Assault on fellow inmates and jail staff during judicial custody

🔹 Operation & Handover
The CCB team tracked and arrested him on July 22, after which he was handed over to Barke police station for further legal action.

🔹 Geographical Spread of Offences
The accused was involved in crimes under multiple jurisdictions:

  • Mangaluru City: Konaje and Ullal police stations
  • Dakshina Kannada: Bantwal Town, Bantwal Rural, Uppinangady, Kadaba, and Puttur Town
  • Kerala: Multiple unconfirmed criminal cases

🔹 Legal Proceedings
Courts had issued 24 non-bailable warrants against Fayaan, marking him as a repeat and dangerous offender. Police say his criminal activity spanned multiple districts and states.
