Mangaluru – For the first time, ISKCON Mangalore Sri Krishna Balarama Mandir, PVS Kalakunja, Kodial Bail, will host Sri Krishna Janmashtami on a grand scale, announced ISKCON Mangalore President Gunakar Ramdas at a press conference.

The two-day spiritual and cultural festival is dedicated to celebrating the divine birth of Lord Krishna while uniting the people of Mangaluru through devotion, tradition, and community spirit. The program will feature religious performances, competitions, digital campaigns, sacred rituals, and cultural events aimed at spreading Krishna consciousness.

Day 1 – August 15 (9 AM–9 PM)
📍 Venue: ISKCON Mangalore – Sri Krishna Balarama Mandir
Highlights include Mahabhishekam, soulful bhajans, spiritual discourses, and community offerings to Lord Krishna.

Day 2 – August 16 (9 AM–1 PM)
📍 Venue: Sharada Vidyalaya Maidan, Kodial Bail
The evening will bring cultural performances, festive food stalls, devotional music (Rasamanjari), and the much-anticipated Midnight Janma Aarti – a divine reenactment of Krishna’s birth, offering devotees a profound spiritual experience.

The Mahabhishekam will be performed with sacred Vedic chants, aiming to unite hearts in devotion and invoke divine blessings.

Ramdas urged that Janmashtami be seen not merely as a celebration but as a movement of devotion blending culture, practice, and innovation.
