Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur highlighted the potential of beach festivals to enhance tourism in Mangaluru during his speech at the inauguration of the Mangaluru Triathlon and Mangalore Beach Festival. Organized by the Tapasya Foundation in collaboration with the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), the event aimed to promote tourism and community engagement.

Mayor Kannur emphasized that events like the Mangaluru Triathlon and Beach Festival play a crucial role in showcasing the city’s cultural and natural attractions to tourists. He expressed optimism that such initiatives would attract more visitors to Mangaluru, boosting its reputation as a tourist destination.

Furthermore, Mayor Kannur announced the MCC’s partnership with the Tapasya Foundation, which is planning to establish a Rs 100 crore cancer hospital for children in the city. This collaboration underscores efforts to enhance community welfare alongside promoting tourism.

Member of Parliament Capt Brijesh Chowta encouraged Mangaluru residents to actively participate in the foundation’s endeavors, emphasizing the importance of community support for charitable initiatives.
