Air passengers traveling between Mangaluru and Bengaluru will soon have more flight choices as Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) unveils its enhanced summer flight schedule starting March 30. The updated plan will feature a total of nine daily services to Karnataka’s capital, operated by IndiGo and Air India Express.
To begin with, the frequency of flights between Mangaluru and Bengaluru will rise from the current seven to eight flights daily — six flights by IndiGo and two by Air India Express. By May 23, the route will further expand to nine flights daily, as IndiGo adds an additional service, bringing its total to seven.
Meanwhile, the Mangaluru-Mumbai sector will maintain its schedule of five daily flights – three by IndiGo and two by Air India Express. For passengers heading to Delhi, both IndiGo and Air India Express will continue operating one flight each daily.
In addition, IndiGo will operate two daily flights to Hyderabad, with an extra third flight on three select days every week. The Chennai route will also retain its two daily flights under IndiGo’s banner.
On the international front, Air India Express will now fly directly to Bahrain twice a week, eliminating the previous stopover in Kannur. The carrier will also run two daily flights to Dubai, one daily to Abu Dhabi, and multiple weekly services to Dammam, Muscat, Doha, Jeddah, and Kuwait.
Enhancing capacity, IndiGo will deploy its 232-seater Airbus A321 Neo on the Abu Dhabi route and continue operating four weekly flights to Dubai.
