Mangaluru: The highly anticipated Pilikula ‘Netravathi-Phalguni’ jodukare kambala, scheduled for November 17 and 18, may face a postponement due to the upcoming panchayat elections in the region.
After a decade-long gap, the kambala event was set to return to Jodukare in Pilikula, organized by the district administration. However, the Moodushedde Grama Panchayat elections, scheduled for November 23, have raised concerns. Many officials and elected representatives who would typically participate in the kambala will be preoccupied with election responsibilities, potentially limiting their involvement.
In light of this, officials are considering holding a preparatory Kudi Kambala on November 17 as an alternative, while a new date for the main event may be finalized soon. The decision aims to accommodate both the cultural event and election commitments, ensuring active participation from all involved.
