Mangaluru police have arrested two men from Rajasthan, identified as Raj Kumar Meena (23) of Dhopur district and Subhas Gurjar (27) of Karauli district, for defrauding global e-commerce giant Amazon. The suspects are accused of exploiting Amazon’s policies to loot goods worth approximately ₹ 30 crore over a span of four to five years.
The duo allegedly operated across multiple states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, targeting tier-2 cities to minimize suspicion. They reportedly booked high-value items and manipulated tracking IDs, misleading Amazon’s systems into believing the packages had not been delivered, thus claiming refunds while still keeping the items. The suspects even traveled by air to various locations to facilitate these fraudulent activities.
The case came to light after an Amazon delivery agent in Mangaluru reported suspicious activity to the Urwa police on September 21. Following the complaint, the police initiated an investigation, which led to the arrest of these wanted criminals.
