Mangaluru: The city police have initiated suo motu cases in connection with a road rage episode reported near Ullal on Saturday evening. Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH confirmed that legal action will be taken against both groups involved in the confrontation.

According to the initial probe, the incident unfolded at a toll gate where a blue car carrying a mother, her 19-year-old son, and a few children was passing through. At the same time, a white car with three boys and two girls allegedly attempted to bypass the toll by forcing its way through the same lane.

In the process, the white car driver accelerated, tried squeezing through, and ended up brushing against the blue car. Instead of halting, the white car proceeded further, prompting the blue car’s occupants to pursue it. They eventually stopped the vehicle, leading to heated arguments and a brief scuffle. Onlookers intervened and dispersed the groups before the matter escalated further.

However, a short while later, the white car’s occupants reportedly returned to the spot and engaged in another round of arguments before leaving. Complaints have since been lodged by members of both parties.

Commissioner Reddy stated that cases are being booked against each side and assured that strict action will follow based on verified facts and evidence gathered during the investigation.
