Mangaluru: U. Sandhya Shenoy, Professor and Principal Research Scientist in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Srinivas University, Mukka, has been recognised among the world’s top 2% scientists for the third consecutive year.
The recognition comes from the updated science-wide author databases of standardised citation indicators released by Stanford University on September 19.
Ranking methodology
The global ranking, prepared annually, is based on a composite score that measures the overall impact of a researcher’s work. It evaluates factors such as citations, research productivity, and scholarly influence, using Scopus author profiles as of August 1, 2025.

Prof. Shenoy’s research primarily revolves around developing efficient thermoelectric materials that can convert waste heat into electricity, a field that holds potential for sustainable energy solutions.
