
“Martyr’s Last Journey: Anoop Poojary’s Mortal Remains Arrive in Mangaluru”
Mangaluru: The mortal remains of Anoop Poojary (31), a brave soldier from the Maratha Light Infantry (MLI) unit, who tragically lost his life in an accident in the Balnoi area of Mendhar region, Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, arrived at Mangaluru Airport early Thursday morning.
The solemn arrival was marked by the presence of dignitaries, including Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, and Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner Anand. Together, they helped transfer the coffin carrying Anoop’s remains from the aircraft to a waiting vehicle outside the airport.
In a heartfelt tribute, Anoop’s mortal remains will be carried in an open vehicle procession from Tekkatte to his hometown, Beejadi, passing through Koteshwar. Family sources shared that arrangements have been made for the final rites, which will take place at Padushale in Beejadi.
The procession is expected to draw crowds of mourners, honoring the sacrifice of a son of the soil who gave his life in service to the nation.
