Mangaluru, June 2025 – Reaffirming its strong commitment to community development and social responsibility, MCC Bank Ltd. rolled out a series of benevolent outreach initiatives across Mangaluru, Udupi, and surrounding regions in June 2025. With a focus on educational support, the bank donated notebooks, school bags, and umbrellas to underprivileged students and also extended help to orphanages and ashrams.

Widespread impact across educational institutions

The bank’s outreach touched the lives of students from several institutions, including:

  • Stella Maris High School, Gangolli
  • St Mary’s School, Kundapura
  • St Joseph Primary and High School, Kundapura
  • Nirmala High School, Brahmavara
  • Cosmopolitan Higher Primary School, Brahmavara
  • Kulur High School, Mangaluru
  • St Ignatius Loyola School, Paladka
  • St Rita Higher Primary School, Jeppu
  • Ladyhill Higher Primary School, Urwa
  • Mai De Deus Higher Primary School, Puttur

Additionally, institutions such as St Anjela Home, Bejai, De Mercede Orphanage, Paneer, and St Antony Ashram, Jeppu received umbrellas for their inmates.

The support initiative, which involved donations worth over ₹10 lakh, aimed to equip economically disadvantaged students with essential educational materials, especially at the beginning of the academic year.

Leadership and empathy at the core

Sahakara Ratna Mr Anil Lobo, Chairman of MCC Bank, led the programme alongside the Board of Directors. While addressing students and staff at the events, Mr Lobo urged children to grow up with empathy and self-belief, and to extend a helping hand to those in need once they achieve success.
