Mangaluru: On September 21, 2024, Milagres College, in association with the Cultural Association and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), celebrated Onam at the rooftop auditorium.
The event’s chief guest was Dr. Jose Kochik, a renowned social worker and innovative engineer. In his address, he remarked, “Onam is a festival that not only celebrates culture but also unites hearts. May this cultural festival bring prosperity and well-being to our nation.” He also encouraged students to extend their hands to those in need, emphasizing that by doing so, they will grow to become valuable assets to society.
The event was presided over by the college principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Michael Santhumayor, who extended his best wishes for Onam. Following the inauguration, students performed a series of cultural programs.
The event was organized by Onam Coordinator Athira P., along with Juhi Joyce D’Cunha and Kalandar Shafi. Ms. Shahida Anjum, a lecturer, spoke about the significance of Onam, while Mrs. Pratibha D’Souza, another lecturer, delivered the welcome address. The event was compered by lecturer Lenisha.
