Ministers push for quick relocation to new DC office complex
Mangaluru District In-charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and Revenue Minister directed Deputy Commissioner MP Mullai Muhilan on Sunday to move operations to the newly constructed DC office complex in Padil within a month.
The ministers, in the city for Republic Day celebrations, inspected the new facility and praised the spacious rooms, conference halls, and upgraded offices for key officials, including the District In-charge Minister, the MP, and Speaker UT Khader.
Emphasizing the need for immediate utilization, the ministers urged department heads, starting with the DC, to transition to the state-of-the-art complex promptly. Addressing funding concerns raised by DC Muhilan for Central agency offices like the Enforcement Directorate, the Revenue Minister assured financial support to complete the project.
Dinesh Gundu Rao revealed plans to repurpose the heritage DC office in Hampankatta into a museum and cultural center, preserving its historic value for public enjoyment.
The visit was attended by MLCs Manjunath Bhandary and Ivan D’Souza, MCC Commissioner Ravichandra Nayak, and other officials, marking a collaborative effort to enhance administrative infrastructure and cultural preservation in the district.
