Missing II PU Student Diganth Found in Udupi After Nearly Two Weeks
Diganth, a II PU student from Kidebettu near Farangipete, who was reported missing on February 25, was traced to Udupi on Saturday, according to Dakshina Kannada SP Yathish N. The teenager, who had been missing for nearly two weeks, was reportedly located at a supermart in Udupi.
Police suspect that fear of examinations may have prompted Diganth to run away. The exact reasons for his disappearance and the circumstances surrounding it will be clarified after further inquiry, the SP confirmed.
Diganth had told his family that he was going to visit the Anjaneya Temple after returning home from college but never returned. His sudden disappearance led to growing concern in the community, and on March 1, frustrated locals staged a protest, demanding swift action in the investigation. The case even gained attention in the state legislative assembly.
Sources revealed that Diganth had called his mother before being found in Udupi, which helped authorities locate him. Police had launched an intense search effort to trace the missing student, which finally bore fruit with his recovery.
