Mangaluru: A new book titled Surajya: Good Governance – Wheel of Democracy, written by young author and orator Ms Reshel Bretny Fernandes, was formally released by MLA Umanath Kotian. The book has been published in memory of Good Governance Day, dedicated to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and explores core principles of good governance and its deep connection with citizen participation.
Book highlights the essence of good governance
Ms Reshel’s work delves into democratic values, transparency, accountability and public engagement, presenting the idea that governance becomes meaningful only when it is closely connected to the people it serves. The book reflects her thoughtful analysis of how responsible leadership and aware citizens together strengthen democracy.
Young author with remarkable achievements
Ms Reshel, already recognised for her eloquence and leadership, is the recipient of several awards including the prestigious Kittur Rani Chennamma Award from the Government of Karnataka. She has also earned honours at national and international levels.
An alumna of DPS MRPL, Ladyhill Victoria, and Sri Mahaveera College, Moodbidri, she is currently pursuing LLB at SDM Law College, Moodbidri.
