A shocking video showing parcels being thrown into a district prison in broad daylight has gone viral. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, February 23, has led to a case being registered at the Barke police station.

The video, captured by former mayor Kavitha Sanil’s car dashcam, reveals two individuals on a scooter tossing parcels into the prison compound around 2:30 pm. Kavitha Sanil, who was traveling along Jail Road at the time, noticed the suspicious activity and observed that the scooter lacked a number plate.

Upon inspection by prison authorities, the parcels were found to contain various items, including cigarette packets, a mobile phone, tea powder, and soybeans. The authorities immediately launched an investigation, and it was discovered that the parcel had been retrieved by an undertrial prisoner named Rafeeq, who was in the quarantine section (cell number 9).

Further searches revealed that Rafeeq was in possession of one mobile phone, three packs of cigarettes, a lighter, a packet of soybeans, and a packet of tea powder. A case has been registered at the Barke police station in connection with the smuggling operation.

Prison authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
