Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta has strongly criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government, accusing it of misusing state machinery to intimidate and marginalize Hindu leaders and organisations, particularly in the coastal belt.

Reacting to the recent FIR filed against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, the MP alleged that the move reflects the government’s desperation to divert attention from its failures in maintaining law and order. “What the government is doing in Dakshina Kannada is not just disturbing but also exposes its intolerance toward nationalist voices,” he said.

Capt Chowta termed the actions as “unconstitutional,” claiming that the administration is framing both young Hindu activists and veteran leaders in “fabricated” cases and forcibly pushing them out of their own districts through externment notices.

“The Congress, which wears secularism as a badge, is engaging in appeasement politics that threatens both the idea of secularism and public security,” he added. He described coastal Karnataka as a “civilised, educated, and self-reliant bastion of nationalism,” asserting that its ideological strength appears to be a thorn in the side of the ruling government.

Reaffirming his support for those targeted, Capt Chowta warned that such “dirty political games” will not go unchallenged, and pledged to stand by those committed to protecting Dharma and national values.
