As part of its Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 initiatives, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL) took a significant step to honour grassroots healthcare heroes. On 10 July 2025, MRPL distributed Swachhata kits—including umbrellas and eco-friendly jute bags—to 110 Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA workers) across five Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in neighbouring villages: Bajpe, Kulai, Katipalla, Kemral, and Surathkal.

This thoughtful initiative acknowledged the tireless efforts of ASHA workers in nation-building, recognising them as a vital link between rural communities and India’s public health system. The programme aligns with the National Rural Health Mission’s vision of ensuring robust community health networks through the presence of ASHA workers in every village.

During the distribution event, MRPL officials highlighted the importance of cleanliness, health awareness, and the critical role of ASHA workers in sustaining these values at the grassroots level. Their words resonated with PHC doctors, local leaders, and community members, who warmly appreciated MRPL’s gesture.

The initiative reinforced MRPL’s commitment to sustainable community development and health empowerment under the Swachh Bharat mission, setting an inspiring example of corporate social responsibility in action.
