As part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2025, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has unveiled an innovative health initiative aimed at improving the lives of children battling Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia. Recognising the critical need for nutritional support among these young patients who rely on regular blood transfusions, iron chelation, and micronutrient supplements, MRPL has introduced “Happy Bars” – energy-rich natural protein bars made with coconut and almonds.

Under this programme, 100 children at Wenlock District Hospital, Mangalore, will receive one “Happy Bar” every week for six months to stabilise their health and improve their overall quality of life.

The symbolic launch of this programme saw the presence of MRPL officials Prashanth Baliga (GM CSR) and Keshav Patali (Manager CSR), alongside Dr. Shivaprakash DS (Superintendent), Dr. Sudhakar (RMO), Dr. Sharath Kumar (HOD, IABT), other medical professionals, nurses, and members of the Arogya Raksha Samithi.

This thoughtful intervention reflects MRPL’s ongoing commitment to community health and sustainable social responsibility.
