The Board of Directors of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) and a Schedule “A” Mini Ratna Category-I Company, approved the company’s Standalone and Consolidated Financial Results for the second quarter (Q2) and half-year (H1) ended September 30, 2025, during its 271st Board Meeting held on October 15.
Financial Performance Overview
In a strong turnaround from the previous year, MRPL reported a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹639 crore for Q2 FY 2025–26, compared to a loss of ₹682 crore in the same quarter last year.
- Revenue from operations: ₹25,953 crore (Q2 FY25: ₹28,786 crore)
- Profit before tax (PBT): ₹975 crore (Q2 FY25: Loss of ₹1,041 crore)
- Profit after tax (PAT): ₹639 crore (Q2 FY25: Loss of ₹682 crore)
For the first half of FY 2025–26 (H1 FY26), the company achieved:
- Revenue from operations: ₹46,941 crore (H1 FY25: ₹56,075 crore)
- PBT: ₹572 crore (H1 FY25: Loss of ₹940 crore)
- PAT: ₹367 crore (H1 FY25: Loss of ₹617 crore)
This reflects MRPL’s successful operational recovery and disciplined management amidst fluctuating crude prices and refining margins.
Operational Highlights
- MRPL processed a new crude from Kuwait Neutral Zone (API = 31.00) for the first time in September 2025, expanding its crude processing portfolio.
- The Devangonthi Terminal achieved its highest-ever monthly dispatch of 65.40 TKL during September 2025, surpassing the previous record of 57.90 TKL in May 2025.
- The company’s throughput stood at 4.43 MMT for Q2 FY26 and 7.95 MMT for H1 FY26, compared to 4.58 MMT and 8.93 MMT respectively in the previous year.
