Mangalore: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has made a remarkable impact at the 18th Global Convention of the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), held on November 8-9 in Mangaluru. Competing with 73 organizations from across India, MRPL stood out as a top contender, earning eight awards and securing a place among the top three in the prestigious “PRCI Excellence Awards” for corporate entities. These awards underscore MRPL’s influential contributions across multiple communication and public relations categories, highlighting its leadership in the sector.
The PRCI, a well-respected entity promoting public relations and communication standards, recognized MRPL’s outstanding efforts in categories such as Best Community Impact Communication, Internal Channel Communication, Government Communication Films, Healthcare Communication Films, and Motivational Films. The awards were presented by distinguished personalities, including former High Court judge and arbitrator P. Krishna Bhat, popular Kannada actor-director Ravi Kiran, and adventure sports enthusiast Dr. Mamata Lala.
A key highlight of the event was the celebrated “Chanakya Awards” ceremony, held on November 8, where MRPL’s achievements in public relations were prominently recognized. Shri Krishna Hegde Miyar, MRPL’s Group General Manager, received the “Excellence in Administration” award, while Shri Rudolph Noronha, Chief General Manager of Corporate Branding and Communications, was honored with the “Excellence in Corporate Communication” award. These honors were bestowed by Shri Shripad Yesso Nayak, Minister of State for Power & New and Renewable Energy, with the presence of other PRCI dignitaries, including M.B. Jayaram, Founder Chairman Emeritus, and Geetha Shakar, National President of PRCI.
