Mangaluru: Former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has strongly condemned the filing of an FIR against RSS leader Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, who had paid tribute to slain Hindu youth Suhas Shetty. He accused the Congress-led state government of deliberately targeting Hindu voices and warned that such actions may lead to widespread opposition.

Kateel alleged that the government is manipulating the police force for political gain and appeasement, particularly to attract the Muslim vote bank. He questioned the deportation notice served to BJP leader Arun Puttila, calling it baseless and unjustified. He also denounced the nighttime raids on the homes of Hindu youths in Kadaba, stating they are meant to intimidate and harass.

The former MP further stated that filing cases against those expressing the sentiments of the Hindu community, especially during a condolence event, is both unacceptable and provocative. “Such moves reflect a broader attempt to stifle Hindu leadership, which the community will not tolerate,” he added.

Kateel drew parallels between the murders of Praveen Nettar and Suhas Shetty, alleging that radical elements from Kerala were behind both incidents. He criticized the government for failing to act against these disruptive forces and instead choosing to clamp down on innocent Hindu individuals.

He concluded by asserting that the government’s current approach is driven by vote bank politics and risks further alienating the Hindu community.
