Bantwal: A heartbreaking road accident near Kelinja Junction in Veerakamba village, close to Vittal, claimed the life of a 34-year-old man and left two others—his sister and a child—seriously injured.
The deceased has been identified as Aneesh Ananthadi, a resident of Ashwatthadi in Ananthadi. The accident occurred on Monday when the Alto car he was driving from Kalladka to Vittal was struck head-on by a mini tipper approaching from the opposite direction.
All passengers sustained severe injuries, and alert local residents immediately rushed them to the hospital. Unfortunately, Aneesh, who was critically injured, succumbed to his injuries later that night at a private hospital in Mangaluru.
Tragically, Aneesh had been married just two months ago. He was reportedly on his way to drop off family members in Vittal when the accident took place.
A case has been registered at the Vittal police station, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause and circumstances of the crash.
