Night bus services from Mangaluru to Bengaluru and Mysuru have been disrupted due to recent road conditions. According to KSRTC sources, routes via Shiradi Ghat (to Bengaluru) and Sampaje (towards Mysuru) faced interruptions over the past few days. Buses were halted at Sampaje and Gundya, resuming their journey only after receiving road clearance.
Officials confirmed that Shiradi Ghat reopened for regular vehicle movement on Sunday evening after precautionary measures were taken to prevent any incidents. Buses, typically halted around 1-2 am at Gundya, now resume travel by 4:30-5 am, causing delays of three to four hours.
Karnataka Sarige buses are rerouted through Charmadi Ghat, while high-end buses like Dream Class and Ambari Utsav continue on their regular routes. However, around 15-20 departures were cut, and most Rajahamsa and Volvo services were canceled. Passengers are informed in advance about potential delays, with buses operating at night only if roads are clear.
The disruptions were caused by a landslide at Doddatappalu, Sakleshpur, on NH-75, leading to vehicular movement restrictions on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru and Madikeri-Sampaje routes.
