Mangaluru: August 9, 2024, marked a momentous occasion at PA First Grade College (PAFGC) as the Graduation Day ceremony for the class of 2024 began with a solemn prayer by Janab Izuddeen Kausari, Imam of the PACE prayer hall. The prayer was translated by Ms. Sali Asham, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and Management.
The grand event was graced by esteemed guests, including Dr. Devendrappa H, Registrar (Evaluation) of Mangalore University, as the chief guest, and Dr. Abdul Rahiman, Former Vice-Chancellor of Calicut and Kannur Universities and Advisor at PAET Institutions, as the distinguished guest. Managing Trustee Abdulla Ibrahim, Trustee Mr. Abdul Latheef Ibrahim, Director of Finance Mr. Ahmed Kutty, and other dignitaries also joined the celebration, making it a memorable occasion for the graduating students.
In his speech, the Chief Guest, Dr. Devendrappa H, encouraged the students to pursue higher studies and strive for the betterment of youth. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement.
Managing Trustee Mr. Abdulla Ibrahim, in his speech, urged the students to listen to and engage with the elderly, drawing inspiration from their experiences. He highlighted the significance of education in shaping individuals for the betterment of society.
The Distinguished Guest, Dr. Abdul Rahiman, spoke about the virtues of patience, emphasizing its importance in all walks of life. He stressed that upskilling is crucial for career growth and that education is not just about earning a degree but also about developing ethics, patience, and commitment.
The ceremony reached its pinnacle when Principal Dr. Surfraz J. Hasim administered the oath to the graduands, symbolizing their transition to the next phase of their lives. Vice Principal Dr. G. Harikrishnan extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Ms. Vanishree, IQAC Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Laveena D’Souza and Ms. Afrath Aman, Assistant Professors, served as the hosts.
A highlight of the event was the felicitation of Mr. Krithik Roshan, a third-year BCA student, who earned a place in the India Book of Records for football arm rotation—a testament to the college’s commitment to nurturing talent beyond academics.
As the graduates received their certificates, the atmosphere was filled with pride, joy, and a sense of accomplishment. Parents and faculty members beamed with pride, knowing that their loved ones had reached a significant milestone.
